Alex Roberts Design

I’ve always had a passion for design and engineering. In 2006 I completed a degree in Contemporary Furniture and Related Product Design, gaining a 2:1. I’m a problem solver at heart and enjoy applying myself to find solutions for any project I’m working on. I get great satisfaction seeing an idea come to life throughout the design process and that’s what drives me. For me, it’s important to physically create and make ideas, to understand if the planned objectives have been successfully achieved. I've constantly worked on expanding my skill set and understanding of design and making processes so I can apply myself to innovative projects in the future. Below are a collection of personal projects and work briefs I’ve been involved in recent years.

Office Work Table – Andy Knight Ltd – Commissioned by AKL to build a new office table, design incorporated a central sunken troff to house all electronics and hard ware so as to maximise useable work top space.

Pendent made for my wife.

Childs all-in-one table and chairs with busy board and moveable clock face.

Two seater electric car concept, modelled in Solidworks at 1:12 scale. All parts filament 3D printed, sanded and sprayed accordingly finished in black gloss with two part lacquer top coat. Car fixed to display plinth with a protective Perspex case.
